I know, I know. Another green drink – and for breakfast no less.

Before you give me a hard time let’s focus on what this drink gives you. For starters, this is an EXCELLENT way to start your day. “Why would I forgo a donut in place of this?” you may ask. Because, besides all of the super food benefits, after drinking this you will have already had the equivalent of a large salad. If you’re the type that loathes anything green then you can pat yourself on the back first thing in the morning after you chug this bad boy.

Now, onto what you get out of the deal;

Body Benefits

  1. Super Food Combo. Anti-oxydent central (that means cancer fighter).
  2. Joint Health. Less aches and pains in your joints.
  3. Metabolism Boost. Weight loss, more energy.
  4. Brain Health. Lowers risk of Alzheimers and dementia.
  5. Tissue Health. Glowing skin and hair.
  6. Protein. Sugar stabilizer, strong muscles.
  7. Fiber. Clean digestive system.
  8. Fast & Easy. Quick to make, low clean up. (If your a woos then it might take you longer to drink it then it will to make it and clean up.)

Mental Benefits

  1. Energy Boost
  2. Clear & Sharp Mind
  3. Memory Boost

Prep Time 5 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes
Servings 1
Calories 56 kcal

Ingredients

  • 1/4 Scoop Protein Powder I use Gold Standard Whey from Costco. If your protein powder does not have stevia or zero sugar sweetener in it then you will want to add a little stevia to this recipe.
  • 1 Tbsp Fresh Ginger Root More or less depending on how spicy you like it.
  • 1 Handful Kale I chop up my kale and stick in the freezer. Makes for an easy grab, cools down the smoothie a bit and preserves the kale longer.
  • 1 Scoop Collagen
  • 3 Cubes Ice
  • 1 Cup Water More or less depending on taste.

Instructions

  1. Throw everything in a Vitamix. Blend, drink.

A couple of notes. First, if you don’t already have one, you need to get a Vitamix to make this smoothie. You can use a regular blender if that’s all you have but you really do need one that will liquefy this smoothie otherwise it will be a bit chunky. The Vitamix makes it smooth and easy to drink. Chunky is not good when it’s this green:)

Second note. I have pictured omega oil tabs – not to put in the smoothie – but because I take my morning supplements along with the drink. I always include an omega oil supplement like the Wild Alaskan Salmon tabs pictured.

Believe it or not, this is my number 1 go to breakfast most of the week. I have it about 6 days out of 7. I love starting the day off right with this smoothie because then, if I get a little off track later in the day at least I have peace of mind that I got in a good dose of super food early in the day plus it really wakes you up.

The key to this breakfast is mentally choosing it because your body will love you for it. After you drink it any sugar cravings you might have had will disappear. You will feel completely satisfied and full of energy. Hunger cravings disappear and are replaced with a boost of energy. In addition, because the ginger speeds up and cleans your blood you will feel mental clarity from it.

It takes about 30 days to start a new habit. If you commit to making this your breakfast for 30 days, at the end you will love it and crave it for breakfast because of how it makes you feel.
